Why I'm running
A council that makes decisions, not more negative headlines.
Hobart is one of the world's most beautiful small capital cities, with enormous opportunities ahead. But too many decisions stall while rates rise and practical problems remain unresolved.
We need a city that moves, is affordable, and is open for business.
I will lead a council that listens, decides and gets on with the job. A council that rebuilds trusted relationships and puts people - the Hobart ratepayers - before politics.

My Ten-Point Plan
for a Better Hobart
A focused plan to restore decision-making, deliver better value for ratepayers and move Hobart forward.
Clear commitments. Published progress. Practical delivery.- 01
Decisions, not headlines
A major governance reset, with a Conduct and Civility Charter, published voting records, fewer closed-door items and standing public question time.
- 02
Ratepayers first
Keep annual rate increases at or below CPI for four years, backed by an independent service and efficiency review and a new Customer Service Charter.
- 03
Trusted partnerships
Rebuild productive relationships with governments, business and investors to secure funding, remove barriers and deliver projects for Hobart.
- 04
Streets and footpaths that work
Fund the basics properly: a published footpath renewal program, safer local streets, upgraded lighting and line markings, smarter parking and practical bus and cycling improvements.
- 05
More homes in our city utilising existing spaces
Help convert vacant and underused upper floors and business spaces into housing, fast-track suitable proposals and make appropriate council land available for community housing.
- 06
Open for business
Make planning faster and more certain, publish approval times and settle the short-stay question through evidence and a clear council decision.
- 07
A 30-year mobility blueprint
Create one integrated Greater Hobart plan for rapid bus, rail corridors, ferries, walking and cycling, then build a regional partnership around it.
- 08
Move the northern corridor now
Back delivery of stage one of the rapid bus network on a published timeline, while keeping a future rail-capable upgrade physically possible.
- 09
Make the river work harder
Expand Derwent ferry routes, wharves and operating hours, with fully integrated ticketing across ferries and buses.
- 10
Fair funding for regional assets
Negotiate cost-sharing for kunanyi / Mount Wellington and the waterfront so Hobart ratepayers do not carry state and regional assets alone.
